Report of the NEA Civil Society Forum 2026

Korea SDGs Network 2026. 10. 27. 11:14

This report provides the official synthesis of deliberations and policy recommendations from the 『2026 Civil Society Forum for the North-East Asia Multi-Stakeholder Forum on SDGs』, convened at Incheon National University on October 21, 2026, with the official preparatory support of UN ESCAP. Bringing together approximately 50 civil society and youth delegates from the Republic of Korea, China, Japan, Mongolia, and the Russian Federation, the forum established collective sub-regional positions across the five focal Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs 4, 10, 12, 15, and 17) prioritized for the 14th APFSD and the 2027 UN High-level Political Forum (HLPF). The publication thoroughly documents the core messages of the North-East Asia Youth Statement defining youth as policy "co-architects," the special side event advancing human rights-based AI governance, and the adoption of the Civil Society Declaration that secured official government commitments to embed a human rights-based approach (HRBA) in Korea's 2027 Voluntary National Review (VNR), complete with comprehensive on-site photographic documentation.

This report was prepared using 'Gemini Pro' based on the forum programs and proposals shared at the Civil Society Forum, the 'Civil Society Statement', the 'Youth Statement', presentation materials, and photographic materials.
